The Kukkiwon is the Headquarters for World Taekwondo. It is located in Seoul, Korea. The Kukkiwon maintains the official records of all Black Belt certifications, and provides guidance to Tae Kwon Do instructors. The Kukkiwon website includes a certification lookup, so that a black belt's credentials can be verified.

The World Taekwondo Federation is the International Federation governing the sport of Taekwondo and is a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations [ASOIF].
